Easy A Inspiration

Cardigan: Suzy Shier
Bustier: F21
Parasuco Jeans: Smart Set
Necklace: The Bay

So a couple friends and I last Thursday decided to take a quick study break and go see Easy A at the movie theatre. This local movie theatre is so cute and tiny, it shows one movie at a time and even has those old school couples seats. The best part is that you can get a medium popcorn and drink for $5! It was quite a satisfying experience and inspired this outfit....
Emma Stone was hilarious in this movie and not to mention a total babe in her little bustier tops. All of this inspired me to finally wear one I had gotten just before coming back to school. I think I'm going to take in the waist a little bit though as it was not as snug as I would of liked. Yes, I did wear this to school, but no I did not take the cardigan off. This would of been a fun outfit to go out in, but I was headed out to a football game which resulted in a big sweater, a big knitted hat and a winter jacket. Needless to say the beau was sad to see this outfit go....

Giraffes Are Cute, Maybe I Am Too!

Boyfriend Cardigan: Joe Fresh
Dress: Rickis
Braided Bead Necklace: Sears
Boots: The Shoe Company
Earrings: Gift

It was interesting taking these photos the other day.... I didn't have my tripod, so I was balancing my camera on its side in the crack in the stairs of the deck. Talk about ingenious yes? As a result I have a lovely photo of the sky.... Close up photos were an issue though.....

This was a fun outfit I put together keeping in mind that I needed to keep it professional, as I had breakfast with my mentor.  I love everything about this dress, its got a fabulous giraffe print, along with the funky way the darts along the waist going out to the bust and the hip are at such random angles. I figure giraffes are super cute with the awesome animal print and that maybe I am almost as cute with my wearing their print!? Oh the interesting ways we girls like to see things!

The Real Color

DKNY Blazer: Thrifted
Pashmina: Vendor in Florence
Sunnies: Kathy Van Zeeland Outlet

Okay, so here is me walking from one meeting to another and taking a photo of my hair to show the color. I'm even loving this photo because I get to see the color better in the sunshine!

This is a blazer I got when Natasha was visiting, I almost didn't get it but she assured me it did look quite fabulous so I did get it and I love it!!! This is a completely useless angle to show off the jacket but its the only one I've got for now.....

On a different note, I have now tailor basted all my markings onto my cashmere wool fabric for my tailored jacket, stitched my front hymo pieces and my back stay. Now I need to go get thread to match my fabric so I can actually start sewing my jacket together. A key factor I seemed to of overlooked when I purchased the fabric! Go me!

Its A Little Dark

Jacket: F21
Dress: Suzy Shier
Tights: Winners
Shoes: Spring
Necklaces: Gift & F21 & Accessorize

So I didn't take pictures until late yesterday. The hair color is different, but its hard to see here. I'll try and get some in the sun to really show how vibrant the color is! Its really great. Really.

I wore two prints together, which is so much fun! Three I guess if you include the tights.... This was a fun outfit, and quite comfortable which was a good thing since I was at school till 11:30pm last night doing homework! I'm not even joking.... Then I was out the door at 7:30am this morning. I'm looking forward to getting some sleep tonight, I can say that much.

Today I realized that Halloween is next week. Oh dear, how am I ever going to get my costume done?! Hopefully this weekend, otherwise I just don't think its going to happen.

I'm curious to know what other people are dressing up as for Halloween......

Yay, I Got It All Done!

Top: Gift from Natasha
Knit Skinny Pants: Suzy Shier
Bangles: Le Chateau
Two Tone Oxfords: Spring
Earrings: Gift from Natasha

I had an amazing weekend! I did dye my hair, but if you're looking at these photos and thinking "well her hair doesn't look any bloody different!" you would be correct, these photos are from Friday. So you will have to remain in suspense till tomorrow. I will say that my sister Kayleigh did a fabulous job, I love my hair very much!!!! She also waxed my eyebrows and gave me a chemical peel. For these reasons alone I just can't allow her to take off traveling in the spring! Sorry Kayleigh, but its just not happening. That, and the fact that who will I get to model my clothes in the year end fashion show at school?

I also got to work on my costume, mainly just buying supplies but the beau found me a fabulous viking hammer at Value Village! Did I mention I'm being Astrid from How To Train Your Dragon? Shes awesome, its going to be fun! The beau has decided to be the Mad Hatter, which I think he will be perfect for so we also found lots of great things for that on the weekend. I even found a couple packs of smaller thread bobbins I'm going to make into the sash the Hatter wears.

Happy Monday!

I Just Really Like This Hat!

Hat: Walk About Hats
Printed Tank Blouse: Roberto Cavalli Outlet
Ruffled Vest: H & M
Leather Jacket: Shop in Florence
Pashmina: Vendor in Florence
Jeans: Smart Set
Ballerina Flats: Winners
Purse: Winners

So Blogger is still doing this thing to me at the moment where it lets me upload one photo but then I have to exit out and go back in to do another and so on. What the heck is going on? I'm pretty sure I'm doind everything the same as I usually do!

Anyways, yay for fall and having fun with layers and lots of colors and etc! I had fun with this outfit, plus I'm wearing my stellar hat again which made things great. I've been told by quite a few people how they don't recognize me with a hat, its like I'm incognito.... Could cause some trouble and not be recognixed because of my awesome hat. But probably not, that might be taking things a bit too far!
The one downside of this outfit is that I had not meant to wear these shoes! I had intended to wear my brown oxfords, but I was rushing to get to school and all of a sudden I realized I was not wearing the shoes I had wanted to. My whole scheme for this outfit was that I knew I was going to be spending a lot of time with the iron steaming my cashmere wool fabric and that it was going to get warm so light layers were necessary!

I'm hoping to finally dye my hair this weekend, and get a facial, and get my eyebrows waxed! The joys of having an esthetician for a sister....

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Bats Can Be Cute Too Ya Know

This is Alfred. He appeared a couple of days ago and has been sleeping here above the entrance doors of school building I have my classes in. He must be very tired as he doesn't seemed to of moved since he appeared. Maybe he had a long trip? I have no answers to my questions, hes pretty quiet, but just so cute!

So cute in fact I thought I would share....

Views To Be Thankful For!

These photos are from my Thanksgiving weekend visiting my dad. I could of put quite a few more in but Blogger is being quite strange when it comes to uploading my photos at the moment, so maybe another time!
Rusty had a great weeked since my dads place is on the lake and he got to swim to his hearts content all weekend! We climbed the local mountain which I haven't done in quite a few years, it was great and the views were amazing as always, but holy cow am I ever out of shape! I also think my dad took us up the worst route possible which I pointed out, but we remain to agree to disagree on that point. We were quite lucky to of gone out for our hike when we did though, since after we got back to the house in the afternoon a big storm came up from out of nowhere!

I thought this old abandoned car the beau and I found hiking the next day was super interesting. It reminds me of the old flying car of  Mr. Weasley's that Ron uses to rescue Harry. Did ever mention that I am a Harry Potter fan? I think the are some of the best books I have ever read. I remember being in high school and my little sister got me to read the first one because she was so excited about what she had just read, after that I was hooked! I can't wait for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to come out next month, I started reading it on the drive backso I'm prepared!

Saying Good Bye To The Maxi

Maxi Dress: Zara
Necklace: Refind
Gladiator Sandals: Nine West
Sunnies: Kathy Van Zeeland Outlet

It was yet another glorious day and I thought I would make the most of it by wearing a maxi dress as it would most likely be the last time.... Ironically this day was a heck of a lot nicer than 99% of all the days we had this summer and it is now October!

I wore this big chunky necklace to cover the serious cleavage this dress shows off, I just didn't think it was a great thing for school. Its funny looking at this dress though, as it almost seems a tad short with this angle but I would in no way want this dress any longer as I can trip over it so easily already.  I did enjoy a beautiful drive back to the city after class, but then spent the rest of the afternoon in a chair at the dentist so I didn't get to enjoy the weather as much as I certainly would of liked. I should mention that these photos are actually from last week!

I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanks Giving long weekend!

Floral Me Up

Hat: Walk About Hats
Boyfriend Cardgian: Joe Fresh
Floral Camisol: Suzy Shier
Tank: ?
Capris: Chado
Ballerina Flats: Winners

This is a scheduled post. I will be driving to visit my dad for Thanks giving when this is posted. Its a 12 hour drive so the beau and I are driving overnight (way less crazies on the road) and will hopefully be there in time for a nice afternoon nap! I will note I'm excited for the chinese restaurant where they served the best fried ice cream I have ever had anywhere!

As evident by the above sunshine, fall is turning out the be the best season of the year, not that it isn't already a favorite with me.... Plus I finally got to wear this top, its just hardly been nice at all making me not feel florally at all.... My new word, florally. Oh dear.... Florals aren't a big thing for me but as soon as I saw this top I loved it, and I've seen a lot on other people I actually wouldn't mind trying but we never really got much of a summer so I never really got much of a chance to wear lots of summery pretty things in the end so I like fall even more so letting me finally get to all that.

I hope everyone has a fabulous Thanksgiving here in Canada and in the spirit I will list a few things I am thankful for:

My family - a source on constant amusement
My boyfriend - A never ending barrel of laughs and a great heater in the cold nights....
My friends - even though one in particular (Natasha) has moved so far away I feel as though I'll never see her again other than via blog. Thank goodness for technology.
My teachers - amazing people who are always so helpful and going the extra mile for us lucky students

I Just Needed Some Pow Factor!

Jacket: Suzy Shier
T-shirt: Bluenotes
Sequin skirt: F21
Necklaces: Suzy Shier, Le Chateau
Knee socks: Winners
Steve Madden Booties: DSW
Earrings: Gift fron Natasha

Pls note that these pictures were taken at 11:30pm at night! Why this late and obviously still in a class room? Well thats just how much homework I have.... I should also point out I am consistantly at school by 8am everyday regardless of class start time at 9 or 10! So since it was obviously too dark outside one of my friends was kind enough to humor me with these photo as we were packing up to leave. This was another one of those15.5hr days at school but hey at least I looked fabulous yes?

I woke up in the morning feeling like I needed some wow factor aka. sequins. I'm not sure what brought this on but sequins are just so great I could hardly feel as though I was headed to a bad place! Plus I figured the t-shirt calmed the whole thing down to make things daytime appropriate especially just for school. And again, like the leopard print, lots of compliments! So I guess it worked!

But now I'm blogging into homework time so I must go!

Fall Colors, Where Are Mine?

Knit top: Le Chateau
Skirt: Self made
Earrings: Gift from Natasha
Boots: Spring

Well, fall is here with all of its wonders and gorgeous colors! I say that today wearing all of this black! Gah!

I enjoyed taking these photos out in the leaves, but should of done it earlier as the light is not the best. I've been letting my flash stay on automatic but I clearly need to do some fiddling because I can't seem to conistently get it right. Admittedly, I am rushing the whole process due to the mountain of homework I have and can't seem to get through it no matter how many hours I work on it all!

On the plus side long weekend this weekend! Woohoo!

I mentioned previously that I had bought some lace on our fieldtrip to some fabric stores so I think I will draft a little skirt, similar to this style to make the skirts out of. Simple is what I need, the lace is quite extravagent and certainly speaks on its own along with the fact that it was so expensive I bought a minimal amount.
I'm currently working on a tailored jacket that I bought a blue cashmere wool blend for and will be using a piece of black velvet as the upper collar to give it that Pride & Prejudice era kind of look. Very exciting! The jacket has a fabulous hip length peplum on it and everything!

All About Hermes

This is my friend Jesse, I wanted to show off his awesome outfit for the visit to Hermes as well!
Also, notice the gold balloons in the shape of horses outside the boutique

Dress: Club Monaco
Boyfriend Blazer: Reitmans
Tights: Winners
Pumps: Nine West
Over the knee boots: Bakers
Purse: Winners
Necklace: Made by Kayleigh

Friday we went on a school trip to Holt Renfrew and I am finally posting about it .... Life is a little crazy at the moment...
Anyways, there was a lady that makes bags for Hermes and she was stoppng at the Holts across canada and giving demos on how their bags are made and answering all our burning questions. I won't do it justice in describing how cool it was to see this lady at work and getting to check out the techniques that are used. A typical bag she said takes 12-15hours depending on the details and can take up to approx 18hours. We also got to try the stitching on a sample piece and see how she does it. It makes me want to handstitch my own leather bag now! We were very lucky to be a part of this as well as the last time they said Hermes had done something like this was in the early 90's!

After the presentation at the Hermes boutique we were taken on a tour through Holt Renfrew and got to hear from a member of the staff about their new approach with their new location and the different designers which was also a lot of fun. I hadn't been to the new location so it was fun to be seeing that as well. I would always enjoy working downtown and going by their display windows as they are always fantastic!

Above is a picture of my classmate Jesse, I told him he looked so spiffy I needed a photo! He even posed and everything! Also note, a typical guy of course I took one picture and he figured that was enough. I guess hes a fair bit more photogenic than I am as this was the first and only photo of him and its a good one!
The beau and I then went to a birthday party friday night and I figured I looked too good to changed so i switched up the footwear to make things a little more casual and left it at that. I like this outfit both ways a lot though, I'm not sure I can decide which I like better, I guess it would depend on how tall I wanted to be on the day....

I'm Just All About The Leopard Print Lately.....

Dress: H & M
Necklaces: Le Chateau, Suzy Shier, & Gift
Boyfriend Cardigan: Joe Fresh
Boots: Spring

I'm just really enjoying leopard print lately... I've always loved it, but haven't really worn it a whole lot. Now all of a sudden I have this dress from H & M and I'm making a dress from leopard print silk chiffon. Still not much leopard print sure, but its a whole lot more than I've been wearing. It is exciting though....

I thought this dress was maybe bordering on scandalous (Very thin knit fabric, body clinging shape, etc), however I got so many compliments today maybe a little dose of scandalous is what I need? I am wondering what Natasha thinks since she bought the same dress. A further note on the scandalous point, we both went up a size in the dress so it wasn't quite as clingy and yet it is still very clingy!

So heres to a little scandalous!
